The Finance Minister said this funding is a result of macroeconomic stabilization efforts started in June 2024. These reforms have helped stabilize the exchange rate, control inflation, and improve public finance management.
To improve the business climate, the DRC has prioritized infrastructure. Last July, the government announced a $1.5 billion investment plan for 2024. The plan aims to finance over 50% of infrastructure spending by 2030, especially in education and health sectors that often depend on international donors.
To reach this goal, the country will use a mix of public funding, public-private partnerships, and support from bilateral and multilateral sources for major projects like the Grand Katende Dam.
