Inspiring Fifty Africa Awards 2024: Trish Kalombola Among Top 50 Women in African Tech

Inspiring Fifty Africa Awards 2024: Trish Kalombola Among Top 50 Women in African Tech

Trish Kalombola, President and CEO of TowerCo of Africa (TOA) DRC, is among the winners of the Inspiring Fifty Africa Awards 2024. She has been recognized as one of 50 distinguished African women in technology. The awards, unveiled on November 10 by the EQL:HER network, celebrate the achievements and commitment of women in the tech sector across the continent.

TowerCo of Africa, a wholly owned subsidiary of Axian Telecom, praised Kalombola's leadership, stating, "As CEO of TowerCo of Africa DRC, Trish has been instrumental in advancing telecommunications infrastructure, bridging digital divides and promoting connectivity to empower communities. Her leadership reflects Inspiring Fifty Africa’s values of innovation, inclusion, and resilience."

Kalombola’s commitment to corporate responsibility is evident; last October, she integrated TowerCo into the United Nations Global Compact, aligning its operations with principles on human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption. She is devoted to integrating these principles into TOA DRC’s strategy, culture, and operations.

Laura Stebbing, President and CEO of EQL:HER, highlighted the significance of honoring Kalombola and her peers: "Not only are we celebrating their achievements, we are also inspiring the next generation of women leaders in STEM. Their journeys are a testament to the impact of diversity and inclusion on technological advances and progress."

Kalombola’s recognition underscores her pivotal role in enhancing digital infrastructure in Africa while promoting sustainable development goals through TowerCo's initiatives.
