Banking: Women’s Tabloid Recognizes FirstBank’s Cyrille Mukendi Best Female HR Director in DRC

Cyrille Mukendi Ilunga, Human Resources Director at FirstBank DRC, was honored as the best female Human Resources Director in the banking sector in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) at the Women's Tabloid Awards 2024, held on January 23, 2025, in Dubai.

Women’s Tabloid states that the award acknowledges Mukendi’s expertise, leadership, and dedication to developing human capital in the Congolese banking sector. Her employer, FirstBank DRC, said the prize recognizes both Mukendi’s know-how and her embodiment of the lender’s core values of excellence and inspiration.

With over 15 years of experience in human resources (HR), Mukendi is a prominent figure in the DRC's HR landscape. She has been heading the HR department of FirstBank DRC since 2015, focusing on enhancing performance culture and human capital development. She previously held key roles at UBA DRC and Millicom, where she developed extensive expertise in talent management, recruitment, and HR strategy.

Mukendi holds a degree in private law from the Université Protestante du Congo, combining her legal training with a strategic approach to human resources. This blend of skills has contributed significantly to the operational excellence and growth of the institutions she has supported.

The Women's Tabloid Awards, held annually, celebrate outstanding achievements by women worldwide across various sectors. The event highlights the accomplishments of women leaders, senior executives, entrepreneurs, and women-led businesses, with nominations submitted by individuals, companies, or their representatives.
